King Street restaurant Union Provisions shuttered on May 30 with a promise to resurrect as a new concept, and today it was announced that The Darlingan oyster bar, will move into the 513 King St. space.

The press release for The Darling declares that the "new restaurant will feature a stunning, 14-seat raw bar, a lively beverage program, and a warm, welcoming vibe." From the statement, it seems the new seafood-centric eatery will be more casual than The Ordinary, larger than 167 Raw, and more hip than Pearlz.

Chef Nathan Thurston took over the kitchen after the shutter to help bring in the new concept. It is unknown at the time who will be at the helm when the restaurant opens or if the original owners are still involved. Representatives for the restaurant tell us, "The Darling will be guided by a very experienced team of restaurant and hospitality professionals, including individuals who had an interest in the original restaurant at that site."

Look for The Darling to open this fall.
