Signage Stripped at King Street Club Priya

Mediterranean-influenced nightclub Priya shut the doors this past Saturday. Former owner Alberta Reyes says he sold the hookah-heavy business two months ago, and now it may be turning into a hotel. The signs are already down and the furniture removed from the inside.

This is the second independently-owned establishment to announce its departure from King Street this month. Recently, coffee bar/music venue King Dusko planned a party before its shutter at the end of the month. While no one mentions it on the record, many other small business owners say that lease prices are rising too quickly on Upper King for them to stay.
