Xiao Bao Biscuit, Thursday at 6:00 P.M.

Welcome to our photo series Eater Scenes, where Eater photographers visit some of the city's great restaurants to capture them at a certain, and very specific, point in the day. Today, Xiao Bao Biscuit at 6:00 p.m. on a Thursday.

Home of Asian comfort food Xiao Bao Biscuit quickly became a staple of the downtown culinary set as soon as they opened. The restaurant from co-owners Duolan Walker-Li, Josh Walker, and Joey Ryan is a favorite for diners seeking fare beyond the Southern-influenced establishments surrounding Charleston.

XBB opened almost three years ago in an old gas station, and the menu of okonomiyaki, mapo doufu, and seasonal dishes has been a hit since. Here, Eater photographer Robert Donovan visits the dining room at 224 Rutledge Avenue on a recent Thursday at 6:00 p.m.
