Stereo 8, James Island, Friday Night at 7:00 p.m.

Welcome to Eater Scenes, where Eater photographers visit some of the city's great restaurants to capture them at a certain, and very specific, point in the day. Today, a visit to new Stereo 8 at 7:00 p.m. on a Friday.

The week one chef shuffles at Stereo 8 don't seem to have bothered diners, who are packing seats and leaving happy. Even the single three-star review in a crowd of five star ratings on Yelp begins, "Stereo 8 has a really awesome layout" and goes on to compliment the service. (Regarding the Yelper's middling impression of the food, the restaurant responded graciously that it's "working hard to address the myriad of kinks that present themselves when starting a new business.")

Eater photographer Robert Donovan went inside for a closer look at the hip decor, the laid-back patio, and the dinner service of Asian- and Latin-inspired cuisine that most Yelp users are calling "excellent," "delicious," and "absolutely awesome." Bonus treat: Stereo 8 is apparently wooing departing guests with a free mix-CD of music played in the restaurant.
