Bacco Goes Ocean-to-Table with Return of Festa di Mare

Celebrating the sea with an Italian-influence.

Roughly twice a year, Mount Pleasant sleeper hit Bacco Italian Restaurant fills the entire dinner menu with seafood dishes for a week. July 7 through July 11 is one such week. It's chef Michael Scognamiglio's chance to celebrate the bounty of the ocean and have a little fun deviating from his tried-and-true menu.

The restaurant posted a sample menu on the Facebook event page last night, but potential patrons be warned, this will not be the permanent menu for the week. The popularity of Festa di Mare means dishes will get 86ed, maybe or maybe not replaced, and you'd be well advised to get a reservation if you want to put this food in your face.

Festa veterans will recognize dishes like Tonnarelli can Acciughe, delivering the savory essence of anchovy over housemade pasta, while newcomers like the cured tuna-centric Mojama di Tonna will have to prove their worth.

Dinner runs from 5:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday, extending to 10:00 p.m. Friday and Saturday. Come hungry, leave salty.
