Durham-based Counter Culture Coffee opens a training center in Charleston this week. The coffee lab is located at 85 1/2 Spring St. This space will serve as a classroom dedicated to the intricacies of brewing and beans for coffee professionals.

Every Friday, the public is invited to stop by at 10:00 a.m. for free coffee tastings.

Counter Culture Coffee is also hosting a grand opening party this Saturday, from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., with various activities, like a barbecue and workshops.

Before they open, the new shop let Eater photographer Emma Humphries take a look at the interiors.
