The newest cocktail lounge to unleash libations on the peninsula is The Bar inside luxury space The Spectator Hotel. The room is Jazz Age chic with every nook filled with interesting details from interior designer Jenny Keenan.
Lead mixologist Steven Huddleston created a menu of classic cocktails with modern twists, such as the Holy City Julep with Virgil Kaine ginger bourbon, Striped Pig moonshine, peach puree, and a brown sugar muddle. The Church Steeple Sazerac features a grapefruit ice cube, High West Silver Rye, and an absinthe rinse. They also have wines by the bottle/glass and local beers on draft.
The Bar opens to the public tomorrow at 67 State St. The hours listed are Sunday to Thursday from 4 p.m to 11 p.m. and Friday to Saturday 4 p.m. to 12 a.m.
There are plans in the works for a small plate menu. Bar snacks will come complimentary with cocktail orders.
