The Griffon in Charleston, Thursday, Noon

Welcome to a special Cheap Eats version of our photo series Eater Scenes, where Eater photographers visit some of the city's great restaurants to capture them at a certain, and very specific, point in the day. Today, The Griffon, at noon. on a Thursday

Erin Perkins is the editor of Eater Carolinas, covering the food and restaurant scene across North and South Carolina.

Sitting on almost 20 years of crumpled dollar bills and memories, The Griffon is a Charleston legend. Co-owners Dan Wenz and Scott London keep the Vendue Range bar casual with an emphasis on good beers and affordable food. The dining room at lunch is an egalitarian scene with craftsmen chatting with Broad Street lawyers and families on vacation mingling in between. Everyone loves a good deal.

Here, Eater photographers Emma Humphries and Jessika Stocker visit The Griffon on a recent lunch shift to capture the scene.
