Acclaimed Boston Bartender Ran Duan at Proof; Mexican Cake Party

BOOZEWIRE — Eater Boston's Bartender of the Year, Ran Duan, will make a guest appearance at cocktail conservatory Proof on Wednesday, June 10. There's no special menu at this time, but Duan is said to enjoy "long walks on the beach with a bottle of sherry," and he's fond of daiquiris and a Tom Collins. BEER HERE — Starting at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, June 10, fans of Westbrook's Mexican Cake brew can indulge in 10 different variants of the cult favorite at The Bower at Edmund's Oast. Ticket holders can try any — and all — of the Mexican Cake brews offered, including the original release from 2012, the 2014 and 2015 vintages, as well as "2015 Coffee Cake, Coconut Cake, Cherry Cake, 2014 Tequila Barrel Aged Cake and three more surprise versions."
