LEND A HAND — An employee of The Alley lost three family members in last week's Emanuel AME massacre, and the bowling alley/bar is asking for your help in supporting him. This Saturday and Sunday, The Alley will donate 100 percent of the bowling and arcade game sales to the family. Raffle tickets for a stay at The Quarters on King will be sold for $10 and all of those proceeds will also go to the family. [Facebook]

EVENTWIRE — In celebration of forager and author Chris Bennett, French Quarter restaurant McCrady's will host a reception honoring him and his new book Southeast Foraging. The event is on Sunday, June 28, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Guests will receive a copy of the book and can sample canapes and foraged ingredient cocktails. Tickets are $50 and can be reserved by calling (843) 577-0025 or emailing [Facebook]

WEBWIRE — On June 29, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., Bay Street Biergarten will host a launch party for peer review website Serve Your City. SYC wants to be sort of a Yelp for food and beverage workers. The site will allow employees to rate what it's like to work in certain bars and restaurants. The party is an opportunity to learn more about the platform. [EaterWire]
