Two-story King Street tavern Boone's Bar will shutter on June 7. The establishment opened in the fall of 2010 and for undisclosed reasons is vacating its address in little over two weeks. Boone's Bar had a following among college kids, King Street workers, tourists, and anyone who knew about its surprisingly extensive whiskey list.
Eater spoke with general manager Kain Slowikowski about the shutter, and while he couldn't say why the restaurant was leaving or what might be next for the space, he did want to express his admiration for the staff at Boone's. He expressed appreciation for the dedication and hard work of the long-tenured employees who helped build the bar into what it is today. "It will be missed," Slowikowski said.
Fans have until June 7 to have one last drink at the bar.
