Progress towards an opening.

Ode to Southern fried favorites Chick's Fry House has come a long way since crews cleared out the former car wash that stood at 1011 King St. — the building looks like a restaurant now. Globe lights hang from the ceiling, and booths and tables are in place. The bar area is still under construction, and there's probably many unfinished details, but its getting close.

Chick's Fry House predicted a spring opening, so watch for signs of fried chicken, doughnuts, and limas from co-owners Robert Stehling and Dave Uecke.
