Specifics from the Downtown Home Team BBQ Groundbreaking

Source of Gamechangers and smoked wings, Home Team BBQ, is opening a third store at 126 Williman St., in the NoMo area of Charleston. The barbecue restaurant declared their intentions for a new space last summer and are finally ready to whip the building into shape.

Home Team hosted a groundbreaking party this week with tours of the empty structure. The blueprints show this will be the largest of the three Home Team restaurants. There will be a 56-foot bar, and it will be a full-service restaurant like the Sullivan's Island store. There's even a plan for a parking lot next to the structure.

Chef Courtney Tomer, formerly of The Alley, will join the team to create some unique menu items for the downtown space, but don't worry, old favorites will be there too.

Home Team plans to have the restaurant ready to go by early fall.
