Opening Alert: Meeting Street Eatery Spero Unlocks the Doors

Serving food until 10 p.m.

Spero
Erin Perkins is the editor of Eater Carolinas.

Shared plate newcomer Spero is open for business. Co-owner Rob Laudicina tells us they received their business license yesterday and are ready to welcome guests. Laudicina and executive chef RJ Moody may take food seriously, but have a sense of humor about the restaurant business. The description of their fare, listed on their website, states:

focus is on small shared plates. we like to eat as much as we can, without feeling terrible about ourselves after. but not always. sometimes we like to eat until we are sick. fat kids.

The sample menu is full of noteworthy dishes like Edisto clams with miso cream, trotter tots, and lamb barbacoa sandwiches. Photographic evidence of Spero's culinary prowess can be found on Instagram.

The restaurant, located at 616 Meeting St., is open today until 10 p.m. and will be open six days a week (closed on Sundays) from 11 a.m. - 10 p.m.
