'Small Shared Plate' Eatery Spero to Take Over 616 Meeting St. Address

Hello My Name is Pork Fat Crostini

As quickly as Hello My Name is BBQ vacated 616 Meeting St., another tenant is moving in. Eater received word over the weekend that a restaurant named Spero is sprucing up the interiors and bustling to open soon. We're told chef/owners RJ Moody and Rob Laudicina are alumni of Pearlz Oyster Bar.

The menu at Spero is more refined than its barbecue predecessor. Beef tallow biscuits, pork fat crostini, and pan roasted porgy dot the list of sample offerings. The space is small, but they do have the advantage of a big parking lot — which many downtown restaurants do not.

Spero is slated to open very soon. Stay tuned for more details.
