Eater Atlanta confirmed in October that chef Ford Fry planned to open an outpost of his Tex-Mex eatery Superica in Charleston* (the first is in Krog Street Market in Atlanta). This past Friday, Fry visited the Lowcountry to show off his taco skills at Garden & Gun's Jubilee Bash. There were three options for tacos, pork belly confit, shrimp, and short rib, along with an extensive condiment bar, and micheladas. Many attendees reported going back for seconds.

Fry was too busy plating tacos to converse about the new Superica, but if the long lines were any indication of how the restaurant will fare in the Holy City, he may have a Tex-Mex hit on his hands.

[*UPDATE: A previous version of this article stated that Superica was to open in the Cigar Factory, but Fry's team says they have not yet confirmed a location.]
