Edmund's Oast Gets in the Thanksgiving Spirit With Gravy Shots

Writer/photographer Robert Donovan braved bourbon-laced gravy.

mmmmm, gravy
mmmmm, gravy

Edmund's Oast kicked off the Thanksgiving gluttony season with the Homer Simpson-approved bourbon gravy shot. Served hot with a rosemary powered sugar herb rim, it was just the kind of thing needed to brace one's nerves and stomach for the upcoming onslaught of turkey, Grandma's never-ending questions, and that frightening Jello thing your weird aunt brings every year.

Here, Edmund's co-owner Scott Shor and local food challenge enthusiast Will Judd demonstrated the proper way to take a gravy shot.

If you really, really want one, Edmund's might still have a few left tonight — call first if the absence of chuggable gravy is a deal-breaker.
