NORTH CENTRAL — Popular restaurant Leon's Oyster Shop opened its private event space The Oyster Shed. The restored building behind Leon's can be used for parties of any sort and offers the same fare found in the restaurant. Status: Open. Contact for more information. 698 King St.

JAMES ISLAND — Classic steakhouse CURE unlocked the doors on James Island with a menu full of oysters, beef, and rotisserie meats. They don't have much of an online presence, but Eater has a copy of offerings. Status: Open seven days a week, 4:00 p.m. to 2:00 a.m. with lunch and brunch on the way. 1739 Maybank Hwy.

ANSONBOROUGH — Charlotte-based 5Church swung open the gates to its Charleston store this past week. Visit to take in the architecture of the former church and marvel at the transformation from the previous tenant, Mad River bar & Grill. The menu is New American and the crowds are see-and-be-seen.
