EVO Alum Luke Davis to Open Carryout Pizza Shop Downtown

All it took was one pizza emoji to get us excited about about a new venture in downtown Charleston:

Along with that pepperoni symbol is a host of sharp-looking social media pages and a website declaring Luke's Craft Pizza, a carryout shop, is coming to ZIP code 29403 in 2016.

The Luke in Luke's Craft Pizza is Luke Davis, whose most recent pie knowledge comes from cult-favorite EVO Pizzeria (he also worked at Mellow Mushroom and attended the Columbus Culinary Institute). And Davis has a tattoo of a pizza cutter on his forearm, so you know he's serious about his slices. Joining Davis in the shop will be his wife, Brittany Davis, who will run the counter. She also designed the branding for the concept with her creative firm Saturday Studio .

Brittany says they are still settling on an address, but once that's locked down, they'll be ready to charge ahead. Stayed tuned for details as they come.
