A quick pass by the former Social Restaurant + Wine Bar this weekend revealed construction crews hard at work putting the finishing details on the space to reopen as Poogan's Smokehouse. The forthcoming barbecue concept is from the same owners as the previous Social and long-tenured Poogan's Porch. Co-owner Brad Ball told City Paper that Poogan's Smokehouse would be, "Southern cuisine with a barbecue backbone."
A recent post on the Poogan's Smokehouse Facebook page shows photos of the staff and chef Daniel Doyle testing the menu in the former Social space. If you look closely, you can spot pulled pork, cornbread, martinis, and milkshakes. Keep an eye here to see what makes the final menu and an opening date.
Staff training kicked off this week, which means we are one step closer to bringing Chef Daniel Doyle's refined, rustic menu to life. Can't wait to open our doors and serve ya’ll!
