Vacation with Three Little Rums at Warehouse

During Cocktail Week 2015, Eater will share a new drink every day and the origin of the libation. Think of it as "Behind the Cocktail" with local bartenders. Today, Alex Copley from Warehouse shares the story behind the Three Little Rums.

alex.0.jpgWarehouse bar manager Alex Copley recently went on vacation to the Bahamas and after a walk down the beach, found himself in a tiki hut. "It was an eight person bar, and they were making fresh juice cocktails and playing Bob Marley — I was really inspired by that, so I named this drink Three Little Rums, like the Marley song Three Little Birds."

The libation contains fresh-squeezed grapefruit juice, pomegranate juice, Jack Rudy tonic, local High Wire rum, bitters, SelvaRey Premium Rum, and Caliche Rum. Copley uses Bulls Bay salt on the rim and garnishes with lime slices and starfruit. If you're looking for a vacation in a glass, he explains, "this is the beach-y cocktail for that."

Three Little Rums and Copley can be spotted at Warehouse at 45 1/2 Spring St.
