Chef John Amato Impresses Critic With Thoughtful Plates at The Park Cafe

Charleston Magazine declares the Hampton Park eatery "Modern, reasonably priced food served without pretense."

According to this month's review from writer Jeff Allen, all day restaurant The Park Cafe is exactly the sort of neighborhood dining option everyone should want in their area. Allen spends much of the article praising chef John Amato's salads and vegetable dishes. He mentions classic favorite FIG several times, as Amato previously worked under chef Mike Lata.

Much like the kitchen at FIG, the food at The Park Café never tries to be something it’s not and is never pretentious or overreaching.

Comparing menus to such a venerated institution is a big congratulatory moment for the Wagener Terrace eatery.
