Construction is moving along at contemporary American restaurant 492, as they rush towards their predicted February opening on King Street. Another sign they're serious about the deadline — the kitchen is hiring back of house employees. During a walk-through of the space, chef Nate Whiting told Eater they were using a separate facility to work out the menu, so it's finally time to teach other cooks the ins and outs of 492.
Keep an eye out for front of house opportunities opening, which is usually a pretty good indicator that a restaurant is around two to three weeks from welcoming the public.
