Restaurants will have more choices for their wine list with new distribution company Curated Selections. The group is based in Charleston and is led by advanced sommelier Patrick Emerson. Emerson is currently the wine director for the BB&T Charleston Wine + Food Festival and is the former wine buyer for Maverick Southern Kitchens.
Curated Selections will bring bottles to Charleston tables never before seen within the state lines, like portfolio selections from Peter Weygandt — Robert Parker, that guy that gives grades to wine, likes Weygandt's imports.
Other sommeliers within the Curated Selections group include Tripti Simback, Kevin Simback, and Mal Jones. Restaurants without a dedicated sommelier will be able to rely on this group's combined knowlegde for wine guidance.
