Yesterday, around 4:30 p.m., the Charleston Fire Department arrived at Jazz Age bar Prohibition to investigate claims of smoke. Post and Courier reports the fire was under control by 6:30 p.m.

This morning, the establishment at 547 King St. is wrapped in yellow caution tape, and a window is boarded up. The extent of the damage is unknown at this time. Unfortunately, this stretch of King seems to have bad luck, as just last June, the building neighboring Prohibition caught fire.
