Indigo Road Reveals the Names at Cigar Factory Project

Mercantile, Mash, and The Cedar Room

Erin Perkins is the editor of Eater Carolinas, covering the food and restaurant scene across North and South Carolina.

Learn these names: Mercantile, Mash, and The Cedar Room—starting next year, they will become a significant part of the Charleston food world vocabulary. The Indigo Road Restaurant Group announced today that these are the monikers of their enterprising food emporium project at the Cigar Factory.

Mercantile is the name of the gourmet food retail space, with epicurean food stations, situated on 7,500 square feet of the address. The 1,700 square foot bar will be called Mash and will include an indoor bocce court. Indigo Roads plans The Cedar Room to be a large, private event space above the market and bar area.

Indigo Road also revealed the name of the chef heading the project—Trey Dutton, recently of The Inn at Palmetto Bluff, will join the team to oversee all things culinary at the establishments. Michelle Pavlokos will move from Oak Steakhouse (another Indigo Road restaurant) to become the general manager at Mercantile/Mash/The Cedar Room.

Look for the project to finish in the spring of next year. Keep eyes on Eater for up-to-date details before the opening.
