The car wash at the corner of King Street and Grove Street is gone, and the plans for chef Robert Stehling's Chickenland move forward. The new structure was hinted at in February, but the plans were not approved by the Charleston Board of Architectural review until recently.
Those who have sampled Stehling's fare at Hominy Grill know he has plenty experience frying up chickens, so it will be interesting to see what he can do with an entire restaurant dedicated to the bird. Keep an eye here for updates on construction, menus, and an opening date.
