Cypress, Monday at 6:00 p.m.

Erin Perkins is the editor of Eater Carolinas, covering the food and restaurant scene across North and South Carolina.

Welcome to Eater Scenes, where Eater photographers visit some of the city's great restaurants to capture them at a certain, and very specific, point in the day. Today, a visit to Cypress at 6:00 p.m., on a Monday, for The Five Days of Meat.

Cypress is a scion of sophisticated fine dining, yet on Monday nights, guests know to head to the bar area for $5 Burger Night. These aren't the normal hamburgers, these are super thoughtful masterpieces made with high-end beef. Executive chef Craig Deihl and chef de cuisine Bob Cook routinely post burger porn teasers of the menu before the doors open at 5:00 p.m. Their creations are so tempting, there's even a Cooking Channel segment dedicated to their patty melt, in which Deihl is deemed the "pope of pork."

For a closer look at all the meaty goodness, Eater sent photographer Rémy Thurston to view the scene on a recent Monday night.
