The Palace Hotel and Blake Joyal Soar in First Review

Hanna Raskin's review of hip dive The Palace Hotel starts out, "Poor Blake Joyal." Apparently the chef, upon hearing the critic visited his restaurant during his night off, wanted to make amends with a sample of his cooking sent to her office. Raskin lets the audience know, "I don't accept free food, so I didn't taste the short rib." But, no matter, she ultimately gives the menu four stars.

Raskin states the "The food is great," but is careful to warn readers, if you don't enjoy your inventive cuisine with a side of drunk hipster and peeling paint, this may not be the place for you. Or you could try going early.

The Palace Hotel has stayed relatively under the radar, but with this stellar review, they're probably about to become a lot busier. However, Eater still wants to know: what happened to the plate of meat? Did Raskin's coworkers get a sample or is it still in the Post and Courier fridge?
