Jeni's Splendid Ice Creams Has a Sign

A fancy new copper sign recently popped up at the Jeni's Splendid Ice Creams store on King Street. Which means, the Lowcountry is even closer to unfettered access to founder Jeni Britton Bauer's frozen desserts.

The menu for the shop is online and includes flavors found in other stores (Ohio, Nashville, Atlanta, Chicago), like salty caramel, lemon frozen yogurt, and "The Milkiest Chocolate in the World." Journalist Hanna Raskin reports that the ice cream specific to Charleston will be a combination of "sweet cream, salted peanuts and blackstrap molasses." Raskin quotes Bauer as saying, "It's one of those flavors people are going to love and people are going to hate. I love that."

They haven't announced an opening date, yet, but keep an eye on the @jenischs Twitter account for the latest.
