If the sign out front is any indication, Sullivan's Island will soon have their own gelateria. The peculiarly named BeardCat's Sweet Shop will move into the space below newly opened The Obstinate Daughter. The same team behind Wild Olive and The OD will be in charge of the dessert place. Post and Courier ran a sentence about the establishment, before the opening of upstairs restaurant, but there's been no word since.
Wild Olive's pastry chef Caroline Sherman will be in control of the sweets, and the restaurant's website brags she studied the art of gelato at the Carpigiani Gelato University in Bologna, Italy. With a trippy logo and a title that recalls an ancient Frenchman with a feline in his facial hair, the shop will presumably be very laid-back.
