The Drawing Room Opens; Water Ball Plates

OPENING REPORT—Tonight, art hotel The Vendue opens its new restaurant The Drawing Room. The eatery will offer breakfast (think smoked salmon and various Benedicts) and dinner (a sampling of fancy small plates and hearty large plates). Full menus and hours are online. [EaterWire]

EVENTWIRE—While Charleston Waterkeeper's Fifth Annual Water Ball is a fun evening of fundraising, it's also a good chance to sample local restaurants in small plate form. On May 22, from 7:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m., chefs from Edmund's Oast, Leon's Oyster Shop, Peninsula Grill, The Macintosh, The Lot, and others will be on hand to feed guests.
