Hanover Street newcomer The Palace Hotel had a few hiccups opening—the regular rigmarole of permit pandering and such—but they are finally full steam ahead with a liquor license and a new head chef. Post and Courier journalist Hanna Raskin reports that Blake Joyal will lead the kitchen at Palace. Eva Keilty was the consulting chef for the restaurant, but it was always her goal to pass on the menu duties to someone else. According to Raskin, Joyal's current position is butcher at downtown favorite FIG.
The eatery posted their first full menu this weekend, and the new chef is expected to keep within the same realm of affordable bar food when he takes over.
