Admit it—you've been curious enough to tune into Charleston-based reality show Southern Charm at least once. If it happened to be the episode where producer Whitney Sudler-Smith tells his mother, "I think Charleston needs a great Mexican restaurant," then you're probably curious if that's coming to fruition.
Eater hasn't heard much, but there's several speculations going around that the eatery will be housed in the former pawn shop space at 565 King St. There is a "For Lease" sign in the window, and the view of the interior is blocked by brown paper. Currently, the only taco-pushing restaurants in this immediate area of downtown are Juanita Greenberg's, La Hacienda, and Moe's Southwest Grill—none of which are really competing to be a "great Mexican" place.
