Daniel Island dwellers won't have to wait much longer for a new dining option within their reaches, as easy, breezy eatery The Islander will open their doors on Monday, May 5, to the public. The restaurant will offer dinner service nightly, starting at 5:00 p.m., and will eventually work in a lunch and brunch option.
The idea for the concept was to create a "casual, island atmosphere." A glance at the menu reveals a wealth of options, like three different types of baked oysters, sushi, ceviches, tacos, and traditional meat-centric entrées, like ribeyes and pork chops. Keeping with the family-friendly angle, there's also an extensive kids' menu. Chef John Whisenant, most recently of The Daniel Island Club, will lead the kitchen.
The Islander takes the place of the shuttered Queen Anne's Revenge space at 160 Fairchild St., Daniel Island.
