Local man on the scene Joe Quinn has a bird's eye view of upscale diner The Rarebit and reported that at least 20 firefighters were in the area, rushing in and out of the building at 474 King St., to control a kitchen fire. He also said that a member of the staff came out of the restaurant holding a fire extinguisher. PeopleMatter employee Ryan Glushkoff also posted a picture of the fire trucks at The Rarebit. There were no visible flames in the photos.
[Update: Post and Courier reporter Natalie Caula Hauff tweets that it was a small fire, so hopefully everyone is safe, and business will go on as usual.]
