When Eater interviewed the trio behind the Charleston's Mellow Mushrooms, Michael Shemtov, Johnny Hudgins, and Josh Broome, the topic of calzones came up. Here's what they had to say.

What do you guys think of calzones?
Michael: I love a calzone.
Johnny: Too much for me. I'm a little guy.
Michael: When I greet tables, I'm always telling them to order the calzones. They're as big as your head. It's two meals, it's delicious, and I don't think people eat calzones enough.
Josh: I like calzones, too. I think the house calzone is a crowd favorite. When I was playing golf with [Mike] Lata and those boys the other day, they're like, "Yeah man, a house calzone and a lil' Greek salad, that's it. Never change."
Michael: That's one thing I love—we get lots of business, from college students or people walking King Street—you go to Fig and David [McCarus], the GM, is always telling me he was just in our place the other night. Josh and I ate there a couple weeks ago and he said, "I just placed my to go order with Mellow Mushroom. It's nice to see that. We've been doing it for awhile, so it's like an institution. It's nice to be reminded that people in the fine dining food world still crave our pizza.
