D'Allesandro's Pizza, Saturday at 7:00 p.m.

Welcome to our photo series Eater Scenes, where Eater photographers visit some of the city's great restaurants to capture them at a certain, and very specific, point in the day. Today, a special visit to D'Allesandro's Pizza at 7:00 p.m. on a Saturday for Pizza Week 2014.

D'Allesandro's Pizza sits on the corner of Bogard and St. Philip Streets, far removed from any downtown restaurant districts, but anyone who appreciates quirky toppings and crispy crust knows to seek out the tucked away pizzeria. The walls are covered in odd art and Christmas lights, a pineapple is usually seen resting in the windows, and the staff is a colorful cast of characters eager to help guests decide between the "Red Headed Salami" or the "Get Gnarly."

While it may look like a college-only hangout, all sorts of folks swear by a pie from the eccentric eatery. They also deliver, if anyone is looking to stay home, and they hold the distinction of being the only locally-made frozen pizza available in area grocery stores. Get a feel of the place with images from photographer Rémy Thurston on a recent Saturday night visit.
