For those not paying attention, the former home of Eye Level Art has been transformed into a fancy event space/Mediterranean-influenced restaurant. Upcoming Cannon Green isn't open to the public yet, but soft opening nights and industry parties have occurred more frequently at the 103 Spring St. address, hinting that they may welcome patrons soon.
City Paper spoke with chef Amalia Scatena about the cuisine and she said:
I would say the menu will be Mediterranean," she says. "The connection that I have to water growing up, and when I was in Europe I traveled all over the place — it’s definitely a coastal city kind of thing. So there will be a big seafood component. I think that since you can get all this wonderful product fresh off the boat here is just the coolest.
The team released the menu today, and it is full of fresh fish, seasonal vegetables, and carefully crafted proteins. Bonus menu: there's also brunch. This isn't the typical bacon-soaked Sunday meal, but a more delicate palate of lighter offerings. Think "ladies who lunch" fare but with chorizo chilaquiles thrown in.
Once they unlock their doors, Cannon Green will be open Tuesday through Saturday, from 5:30 p.m. to 11:00 p.m., and eventually work in brunch service hours. Keep an eye here for an opening date.
UPDATE: Cannon Green opens tonight at 5:30 p.m. Brunch will also start this Sunday, 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
