"Time for a new challenge," tweets McCrady's former head bartender Ryan Casey. The libation wizard who created amusing drinks like the Emerald City is moving on from the white tablecloth establishment. Normally, it may not be news when a bartender switches restaurants, but Casey was recently named a "Best New Mixologist" by Food & Wine, recommended by industry magazine Imbibe, and, not to mention, won "Bartender of the Year 2013" for Eater Charleston.
Casey has a loyal following and a sharp mind for cocktails, so it's fairly certain wherever he goes will have a successful bar program. Casey is unable to reveal his next move at the time, but says he is staying in Charleston.
