Rollin' South Kitchen is a 'Bologna on White' Type of Low-Key Establishment

City Paper critic Allston McCrady says the basics are best at this James Island eatery.

Harborview Road newcomer Rollin' South Kitchen may look unassuming, but City Paper critic Allston McCrady says:

This is not a Waffle House with laminated combos stained with squeeze-bottle buttery fingerprints. These are basics with a fresh wink, a thinking kitchen whose menus are fresh daily off the printer because they keep changing.

McCrady finds simple fare made really well. She's impressed the pastrami is smoked in-house and there's from-scratch apple butter. The menu is basic diner fare but done really well.
