The Rooftop at The Vendue, Wednesday, 5:30 p.m.

Welcome to a special Cocktail Week version of our photo series Eater Scenes, where Eater photographers visit some of the city's great restaurants to capture them at a certain, and very specific, point in the day. Today, The Rooftop at The Vendue, at 5:30 p.m. on a Wednesday.

Erin Perkins is the editor of Eater Carolinas, covering the food and restaurant scene across North and South Carolina.

In a town where the tallest building isn't supposed to go above the highest church steeple, places to spy upon the city are far and few between. However, what if you could peer upon the streets of Charleston while sipping a craft cocktail? Then you'd probably be at The Rooftop at The Vendue. On Friday and Saturday nights, you can usually spot a line waiting to take the elevator to the top floor. But it's not just about partying, because as the sun sets on the harbor, the roof is a relaxing place to end the day with a libation in hand.

The Rooftop is the perfect place to take in the fall weather in the Lowcountry, so Eater Charleston sent photographer Chloe Gilstrap to capture the happy hour scene on a recent Wednesday.
