While it's more of a glance than a review, the gang at City Paper took a trip to chef Sean Brock's taco shop Minero and recorded the results. The cutlery drawers kept them from crossing their legs and the Parmesan from the chicken tacos rained into their laps, but they found the offerings "delicious" and "affordable."
Brock appears to have taken all his favorite Mexican flavors — smoke, cilantro, árbol chilis, and green chorizo — and meshed them together with hints of the Lowcountry.
There were no reports on the cocktails, but the crew from CP went on a lunch break, so perhaps they were practicing abstinence that day.
