Stylish Canteen The Farmbar to Open January 24

Tara Derr Webb has been busy since Eater first reported her mobile eatery The Farmbar in September 2012. She's been raising goats in Awendaw, creating a cookbook, hosting swank dinner parties on her farm and, most important, gearing up to launch a unique dining experience for the Lowcountry. While the original opening date of January/February 2013 was pushed back, it doesn't make it any less exciting that Webb and her silver Spartan will finally be serving hungry patrons this January 24.

To review, The Farmbar is sort of a super stylish food truck, set out of a vintage travelcoach. Webb will park her mobile kitchen in the field at 1600 Meeting St. during the week and serve a limited but thoughtful menu. The opening day includes a simple breakfast, pork burgers for lunch and a roast chicken dinner. The plan is to open from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesdays and Fridays with lunch box pick-ups the rest of the weekdays. All of the details are listed on the website.
