Bay Street Biergarten co-owner Laura Patrick took to the Internet last Friday to address her establishment's recent review in Charleston Scene. She tweeted, "A line out the door before opening is the most satisfying response to a crappy review #HatersGonnaHate #morepeoplethanfoam #bsb."
Patrick was referencing the title of critic Hanna Raskin's evaluation, "Bay Street Biergarten is more froth than beer." In the examination of the fairly new pub, Raskin pointed out flaws in the service and her troubles with the pour-it-yourself beer system. As revealed by Patrick's declaration, the publication didn't seem to keep the crowds away from the perpetually packed restaurant. Unless everyone in line was following Raskin's advice of "bypassing the quasi-craft beer rigamarole [by] ordering a PBR and enjoying the attractive space."
