Will New York City Pizza Be Worth a Slice?

While everyone was packing up to head out of town for the long weekend, Hilton Head franchise New York City Pizza opened their doors to Charleston. NYCP welcomed customers on August 29 and according to their Facebook photos, hosted a sizable crowd.

The newcomer doesn't boast ovens made from volcanic rock, like forthcoming DeSano Pizza Bakery, nor does it have the sophisticated ingredients of its neighbor Social Wine Bar—whose menu features a coq au vin and truffled mushroom pie—but, NYCP does offer an important item—pizza by the slice. Long time reviver of imbibers everywhere, the role of cheese and pepperoni at the end of the night is well-known amongst revelers. If crowds from dive bar The Griffon or alcohol brain freeze spot Wet Willies can pop in for a quick bite at NYCP, the restaurant is sure to be a hit.
