Bon Appétit editor Andrew Knowlton just named ramen as one of the "5 Foods Worth Waiting in Line For." And while noodle slurping outposts seem to be popping up in cities around the country, Charleston stands without a dedicated steamy broth and toppings joint. Sure, you can go to cozy spot Two Boroughs Larder for Tuesday noodle nights or saddle up to the bar at pan-Asian eatery CO for a bowl of XO ramen, but eaters in the Lowcountry are without a place to inhale multiple variations of steamy strands on any given night.
Until now? The above advertisement posted on Craigslist is of great interest.
It reads,
"Looking for a ramen noodle maker for restaurant research in the Charleston area. Ideally looking for someone who has worked in/run a ramen-ya at some point in their career."
Will the hungry masses of the Holy City soon have a place to rest their chopsticks? If it does happen, keep your fingers crossed it stays around longer than the very short lived Izakaya Ramen. Those with more details should send an email.
