Patrick Panella, co-owner of highly anticipated Chez Nous, showed Eater around the space that is to be the 30 seat restaurant come November. The place is tiny—imagine the bourbon-soaked Husk bar, and then subtract a few tables and stools. Panella stated a sausage factory once stood in the Payne Court area, and that the manufacturing plant built several of these homes in 1835 for the workers. Today, there is little else down the alley, save for a few aged structures and an empty lot.
Panella affirmed they are constructing a patio for additional seating, as well as building up the back of the location to house a kitchen and restrooms. The address is almost 200 years old, and the interior shows it, as you can see by the following photographs. The finished restaurant should make for some stunning "after" shots.
