Charleston: Get Ready for Garden & Gun's Jubilee

The first ever Jubilee, a new festival that John T. Edge of the Southern Foodways Alliance says will bring the Southern mag Garden & Gun to life, is taking place at Charles Town Landing Dec. 6-8. Edge, a member of the fest's advisory committee, isn't the only big name on the bill. On the food side of things, events are already planned with famed pit master Rodney Scott, The Glass Onion's Sarah O'Kelley and Mike Lata and Brooks Reitz of The Ordinary.

According to a press release, Lata is taking part in a "Garden & Gun Club exclusive dinner and show," which is a "one-of-a-kind food/drink experience followed up by music from the legendary Junior Brown." O'Kelley will be creating a pop-up diner, letting festival-goers can get a taste of her West Ashley restaurant, without leaving the grounds. Other headlining events include The Ultimate Oyster Roast and Pit Master's Pig Roast, with Scott at the helm.

Jubilee is an extension of the Made in the South awards and is co-produced with Charleston Area Convention & Visitors Bureau. Eater National has lots more on the event, but here's the full press release:
