New Food Truck Alert: Lechón Takes Latin to the Streets

Photo: Facebook

Food truck fanatics: another mobile kitchen has entered the game, this time from Circa 1886 and Peninsula Grill alum Larry White. White felt the Latin food scene here was limited ("besides a few Mexican restaurants"), so after a stint as a personal chef/caterer, he decided to launch Lechón Street Food. On Thursday, he posted their grade "A" food permit on Facebook and announced "the wait is finally over."

Right now, the menu spans from Baja fried shrimp tacos to pan con lechon (a sandwich with mojo shredded pork as the main filling) and blue corn pupusas with chicarones, but it's all going to be rotating. White says the truck will be roaming the streets, but he's also keep catering in the mix. He'll be keeping followers posted on the truck's whereabouts on his site and on social media. Be on the lookout for the pig with South Carolina at its head and Central America for a tail.
